The Spicy Ice Palace is our take on a frozen margarita. I really like the jalepeno flavor for this book’s cocktail companion, as the spice slowly sneaks up on you and reveals itself after a sip or two.

Serves 2
Ingredients
2 Cups of Ice Cubes
2 Shots of Lime Juice
5 Shots of Jalepeno Tequila
5 Shots of Cointreau or Triple Sec
Salt
Blender
Directions:
Pour 1 cup of ice into the blender, along with the tequila, lime juice, and contreau/triple sec.
Blend on ‘ice crush’ for a minute or so, until the liquid reaches a Slurpee-like consistency
Pour in the second cup of ice and repeat until the drink is almost smooth
Separately, take a shallow dish or bowl and fill it with water.
Dip your margarita glasses into the bowl so only the rim is damp
On a separate plate, pour out some salt (you can also add Cajun seasoning to the salt for extra kick) and spread it around
Take the now-damp rims of your margarita glasses and dip them in the salt. The salt should stick to the rim
Pour the mixture from the blender into the rimmed glasses and enjoy!
