5-star quick review: Cinderella Dreams of Fire (Casey Lane)

cinderellaGreat YA adventure combining action, lovable characters, and a new spin on a tale that’s been told so many times that finding a new spin is very impressive. I love Cinderella as an action hero taking on demons of manifested hate and pain. In another interesting twist, the Prince Charming of this tale, Braedon, is Prince Hal (of Shakespeare’s Henry IV) complete with his own Falstaff drinking companion, redeemed through his love of the cunning thief, Cinderella, who — we can only hope — teaches him enough about the power of love and ruling that he won’t grow up to be his own version of Henry V. Very exciting and fun read, with enough unexpected twists and turns to not want to put it down until the last satisfying page.
